Sound Inside You

A two-part workshop and research performance by Lane Speidel and Suzanne L. Seesman with Frannie Gene Stout
Presented as part of Just In Time: 30 Years of Collective Practice
Research Performance: Sunday, May 19, 2019 | 6-8pm

Sound Inside You is a project that exists in two parts; a day of workshops and a research presentation organized by Lane Speidel (they/them), and Suzanne L. Seesman (she/her) with Frannie Gene Stout (baby). Sound Inside You explores free play, game structures, intergenerational learning, and sensory exploration. Speidel, Seesman, and Stout use sound, light, fabric, and a variety of other objects in their work, acknowledging the connection between art making and early childhood cognitive development.

Come see the results of the Sound Inside You workshops during a “research-performance” on Sunday, May 19th at 6pm.

Workshop Details
Saturday, May 11 | 12 – 2 pm
Participants will make and collect sounds and Lane and Suzanne will share sounds made and collected for the project and lead an introductory-level audio editing session with Audacity (a free software program). The group will then create a composition together in an exquisite corpse style collaboration.

Saturday, May 11 | 3 – 5 pm
Visitors will be invited to make and perform object, light and color-based performances in response to the morning’s composition.
