January 6 - 29, 2012

Leah Beeferman’s process is also intellectual and interpretive. Starting with textual and visual research about the universe, laws of physics, and idealized geometry, she uses image-making, animation, and sound to explore these findings. By pairing certain drawings with scientific imagery, Beeferman confuses the idea of an informative discovery with an inventive one.

Leah Beeferman (b. 1982) holds an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University Richmond, Virginia and a BA from Brown University Providence, Rhode Island. Recent solo exhibitions include Hunt Gallery, Mary Baldwin College, Staunton VA (2012); and Anderson Gallery, Richmond VA (2010). She has shown widely in group shows and her work has appeared in New American Paintings, SPECULATIVE STRUCTURES, and Pidgin Magazine, among others.
