Christian Herr
Keystone States
March 4 - 27, 2011

Keystone States features selected works on paper and panels from several of Herr’s ongoing series. Modifying the landscape, demolishing transportation for sport, proudly displaying triumph, and documenting personal history are the foundation of this work. Checked flags, trophies, metal posters, and potted bamboo are present formal elements; oil leaks, adjustable signage, parking lots, and carved tree stumps consume these landscapes.

Herr received his BFA from West Chester University and immediately entered Millersville University’s emerging artist-in-residence program. He has shown with Nudashank, Young Blood Gallery, The Infantree, and FE Galley. He has also shown at MICA, Clarion University, Millersville University, and Arcadia University. Herr was included in Beautiful Decay Book 4: exquisite corpse and was also included in the HDMA: from here to there.
