2018 Guest Artists and Exhibitions Open Call
Vox Populi is accepting applications for Guest Artists and Exhibitions now extended through January 21st, 2018.

Vox Populi approaches its 30th anniversary this year! We are pleased to announce our annual open call offering artists and curators the opportunity to extend and challenge their artistic practice. We seek to support artists who are working in a range of media, who take on various subject matter and material, and who represent the range of diversity present and underrepresented in our communities, including on the axis of race, class, gender, and sexuality, as well as geographic points of origin (eg. rural, non-art centers, underrepresented localities).
Vox is interested in exhibitions by national and international artists and curators from outside the larger Philadelphia area. We are seeking artists, curators, and collaborators without commercial representation, who and want to find new audiences. Vox Populi is interested in work that takes place in experimental media and employs alternative methodologies, pushing boundaries in terms of form and content. We want work that takes risks, is ambitious, timely, and experimental.
Vox Populi accepts applications for solo exhibitions by individuals or collective proposals to show in one of our four gallery spaces. We cannot accept requests for a specific gallery.
Selected guests are expected to arrange for their installation and deinstallation. Upon acceptance, the work(s) must be ready and available to exhibit in 2018. Vox Populi’s members will select and group submitted projects. Exhibiting proposals will receive an honorarium of $500.
Submission Guidelines
Artists can submit available works (1-10 work samples) for exhibition or specific proposals; site-specific installation proposals for new works must include images of previous works or installations. Please note this is an opportunity for artists and curators living outside of the greater Philadelphia region to gain exposure with a Philadelphia audience. We will consider applications outside of a 50 mile radius from the city.
