OPEN CALL: April 3-April 30 2014
Vox Populi Gallery and AUX Performance Space Seek Two Curatorial Fellows

Vox Populi Gallery and AUX Performance Space seek a visionary, experimental, and proactive writer/curator/artist to participate in critical research in time-based performance and media arts in Philadelphia. After a two month period of research, the successful candidate (in collaboration with the Events and Performance Coordinator) will lead a two month period of programming and lecturing. This series will provide the Philadelphia art community with new and cutting-edge ideas, artistic practices, and dialogue around live events. Working with the staff, board, and outside consultants, the Fellow will help facilitate an exciting independent series that will be in dialogue with AUX’s existing and future programming.

The position will include room and board for non-Philadelphia based curators. A $2000 research and lecture honorarium will be awarded at the beginning of the fellowship. Each Fellow programming cycle has a $2000 budget towards their programming series with additional funds available for artist transportation and accommodation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and experimental curator. We are looking for candidates willing to make a commitment of living in or regularly commuting to Philadelphia for four months during the research and programming periods. Our first two fellows were Jamillah James and Marissa Perel.

Two fellows will be selected in this round of interviews. The first will research in July and August and program in September and October. The second fellow will research in September and October and program in November and December.
