CALL FOR ENTRIES – VOX XIV
VOX POPULI’S 14TH ANNUAL EXHIBITION OF EMERGING ARTISTS
Exhibition dates: July 13th – August 5th, 2018
Vox Populi is accepting submissions for its fourteenth annual Juried Exhibition VOX XIV.
This opportunity is particularly for emerging artists without commercial representation who push boundaries in terms of form and content, employ alternative methodologies and want to expose their practice to new audiences. Vox Populi is interested in highlighting work in all media that is ambitious, timely and risk-taking.
The show will take place from July 13 to August 5, 2018. The deadline for the open call is Tuesday, May 15, 2018. The application is on SlideRoom and can be accessed here.
Juror: Didier William
Originally from Port-au-prince Haiti, Didier William received his BFA in painting from The Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA in painting and printmaking from Yale University School of Art. His work has been exhibited at the Bronx Museum of Art, The Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, The Fraenkel Gallery, Frederick and Freiser Gallery, and The American Academy of Arts and Letters. He was an artist in residence at the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation in Brooklyn, NY and has taught at Yale School of Art, Vassar College, Columbia University, and SUNY Purchase. His work has been reviewed by Hyperallergic, TwoCoats of Paint, The La Times, and the New York Times. He is currently Associate Professor of Art and the Chair of the MFA Program at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. – www.didierwilliam.com
Submission Guidelines
Applicants should submit a short statement, resume and up to five work samples (including images, audio files or short texts). All submitted work must be available and ready for exhibition, if chosen. DO NOT submit the same work to more than one open call.
Selected artists need to provide installation ready work complete with hardware. Vox Populi will exercise the same care in respect to loans as it does in safekeeping its own property. We urge you to consider the DIY and high traffic nature of Vox Populi’s exhibition and event environment. Unframed artworks will not be insured.
