Vox Populi Announces Partners for Black Box Presents Program

We are thrilled to share the full lineup of partners for 2025!

Vox Populi is proud to announce Black Box Presents, a yearlong performance and screening series made possible by generous funding from the William Penn Foundation. This initiative transforms our Black Box Performance Theater into a platform for collaboration, providing 12 community arts organizations with space and resources to curate their own monthly events. By amplifying the work of grassroots collectives and independent curators, Black Box Presents strengthens artistic networks across Philadelphia while ensuring that all programs remain free and accessible to the public.

For decades, Vox Populi has been a space for experimental art and community connection. With Black Box Presents, we’re formalizing our long-standing collaborations with grassroots organizations and ensuring these events remain accessible to everyone.

We are thrilled to share the full lineup of partners for 2025:

January – World Again
February – Queernoir
March – South Philly Autonomous Cinema
April – Future Flower Collective
May – The Feast / Long Shot
June – All Mutable
July – Batikh Batikh
August – Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival
September – FORTUNE
October – Anakbayan
November – Youth Art & Self-Empowerment Project
December – Philadelphia Latino Film and Art Festival

Through this series, Black Box Presents will highlight experimental music, dance, film, spoken word, and interdisciplinary performance, fostering connections between artists, organizers, and audiences. Each partner organization brings a unique perspective to the series, reflecting the diversity of Philadelphia’s creative communities.

More details on individual events will be announced soon. We look forward to welcoming new and returning audiences to experience this exciting collaboration.

Lead support for Black Box Presents is provided by the William Penn Foundation.
