On Thursday, June 23rd at 6pm EST Black Box will be screening “Offerings to Bob Flanagan” by Mae Eskenazi. Following the film, join Vox Member KT Pe Benito and the artist for a Q&A. Eskenazi’s work is also featured in our current exhibition, Wild/Mild: Vox Populi’s 17th Annual Juried Show, on view through July 10th!
The film will be available to view on the Vox Website, along with the artist talk for one month following the initial screening.
Show & Tell is presented by Vox Populi’s Black Box Committee as part of our ongoing 4th Wall film/video program dedicated to showcasing new and experimental film/video works by independent, emerging, and early-career artists.
About the Artist
Mae Eskenazi (they/them) is a visual artist and ritualist whose interdisciplinary approach extends across sculpture, lens based media, installation, plant medicine, and performance. Curious about the invocation of the somatic and haptic, their work situates itself within questions of grief, memory, and collective amnesia as it unfolds beyond teleological temporalities within trans, disabled, chronically ill, and queer life.
