The Philadelphia Wicked Dramatic Urban Arts

On Friday, May 30th, from 7pm until 11pm, Raw Yankee Theater will present The Philadelphia Wicked Dramatic Urban Arts Festival; an affair that will put the spotlight on underground spoken word, poetry, and short plays.

Visit the Vox Populi Gallery at 319 N 11th Street in Philadelphia, PA for this affair presenting dramatic expressions from the rich diaspora of American urban culture, including short original dramas and provocative spoken word artistry.

The Philadelphia Wicked Dramatic Urban Arts is a theatrical event that is sure to stay in the minds of many for some time to come. Not only will patrons be entertained for the evening, but also culturally enriched.

Feature presentations include the plays Ruthless Spouse, My Husband Didn’t Teach Me French, and Distorted Trickery, and the slice-of-life skit We Are the Hustlers—each by rising playwright and director Francine D. Miller. Talent participating in the festival includes Jameal Bowen, Jeanine Fennal, Ashton Carter, Jasmine Hammond, and actor & spoken word artist Alexander Warrick.

Raw Yankee Theatre is passionately and intelligently expressive about enriching and educating the public through art, especially on the state and nature of life and culture in urban areas. And, as passionate about providing opportunities for artistic discovery and inspiration. Raw Yankee Theatre presents the theatre arts primarily from the perspectives of, or about, urban peoples, to be engage folks of all walks of life.
