Introducing Black Box Presents: A Year of Community Arts at Vox Populi
We’re excited to announce Black Box Presents, a yearlong series made possible by funding from the William Penn Foundation. This initiative will transform our Black Box Performance Theater into a platform for collaboration with 12 community arts organizations, each curating their own monthly event.
Black Box Presents will highlight experimental music, dance, film, spoken word, and more—reflecting the work and values of Philadelphia’s diverse creative communities.
12 Organizations, 12 Events: Each month, we’ll partner with a different group to create programming that connects their audiences and ours.
Access and Equity: All events will be free and open to the public, ensuring accessibility. Artists and collaborators will be fairly compensated.
Building Community: This series is about amplifying the work of local groups and strengthening networks across the city’s arts scene.
For decades, Vox Populi has been a space for experimental art and community connection. With Black Box Presents, we’re formalizing our long-standing collaborations with grassroots organizations and ensuring these events remain accessible to everyone. Stay tuned for the full announcement sharing all of our partners!
