Gathered in Love and Rage: Palestinian Film Showcase
Gathered is a film program, showing at three different Philadelphia venues (Vox Populi Gallery on 12/15, Asian Arts Initiative on 12/16, Making Worlds Bookstore on 1/14) including short works by contemporary women and LGBTQ+ Palestinian independent filmmakers. Because entry and ticketing for each event is based on producing proof of five days of calling attendee’s local representatives, Batikh Batikh will hold the Philadelphia community accountable for continuing the fight for the Palestinian lives as we host their cinema.

Co-hosted by Transformer and Vox Populi, in dialogue with peer spaces Asian Arts Initiative, Space 1026, & Ulises. This conversation will delve into how artist-centered alternative art spaces support emerging artist communities and explore what peer organizations can learn from each other.

Screening of five revolutionary Palestinian films from the 1970s, presented by South Philly Autonomous Cinema. This is a selection of shorts from the PLO-affiliated Palestine Film Unit (later Palestine Cinema Institute) and their allies. Films are mostly in Arabic and French with English subtitles.
