About the Exhibition

Self-Actualization is an on-going process of realizing one’s fullest self, unconditionally tending to one’s gifts, flaws, and desires. This exhibition is a small memento to a fruit “who has learned what it means to save parts of herself for herself, and [has] found so much pleasure in that” (Jenna Wortham, Still Processing). For at this moment, she realized it was no longer anger or loss “that drove [one]. It was something new—an impulse, a feeling, a kind of mental undertow pulling… [one] felt there was something for [one] farther on, a little farther, just ahead. [And] trusted such feelings” (Octavia Butler, Wild Seed).
