An evening of sounds as an extension of the show Careful With That Brain.
Careful With That Brain is a collaborative exhibition of new work from Mark Dilks, Marc Zajack, and Ted Carey at Vox Populi Gallery running September 6 – 30.

“A Night of Electro Acoustic Fuckery Magnetic With Live and Remembered Sounds”

The evening begins with James Strong, who plays a home made instrument that is a bit like a large zither with an amplified bell section — a cantare box (cantare in italian can mean to sing, crow or squeal). “I like to put different objects in the bells and also bow different things like wood and shells.”

The night fades into M Ted M, the premier of this bewildered and unadulterated three piece of sounds and audio play makes for a leave your keys in the bowl and stare at the moon kinda feeling. Distorted sounds mix with recordings, percussion with string and horn twang. There is an unprocess of making sense of nothing here.
