About the Event
Join Vox Populi for our October First Fridays reception in celebration of our current exhibitions.
Beginning at 6pm, the night will feature a new video, Bless the Dark, by Early Shinada premiering in Blackbox as part of our 4th Wall series dedicated to showcasing film/video work by emerging artists, as well as an interactive performance by Andrew González – whose work is featured in Buenas Vibras: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Latinx Artists.
Also beginning at 6pm is 1,000 Dicks, for which Vox member and exhibiting artist Lane Speidel sets dedicated time aside to draw 1,000 dicks during October’s First Friday Reception. It might stretch into the weekend, it may take only one night.
At 7pm, Vox’s current guest artist Abigail Lucien will host and perform during a curated Listening Night featuring additional sounds and performances by Justin Chance, Egbert Vongmalaithong, Steven Perez, and Osagie – who will be DJing all night long!
