About the Line Up
POD BLOTZ
Modern Electronics, Industrial, Sound Art project that is dark in context and bright in texture; mixing electronics, modular synthesis, vox, rhythmic elements, tape manipulation, metals and field recordings. Pod Blotz is artist Suzy Poling’s solo Electronic project, through which they explore posthumanist concepts, performance art, cathartic gestures and otherworldly sound collage. Poling explores relationships between optics, mirrors, electrical synthesis, virtual spatial systems, and further abstract fields. Pod Blotz is from Detroit, Chicago, Oakland and is currently living in Los Angeles. “Light Mass Body” is the latest 12″ vinyl EP out now on Difficult Interactions (LA).
LXV
LXV (US producer David Wesley Sutton) spatially arranges processed voices, digital fragments and fractured synthesized and sampled media into virtual sound environments and complex rhythmic contraptions that imbue existential inquiry, the universality of consciousness, and the expressions and compulsions of the human condition within the modern landscape.
CRAOW
Craow is the moniker of the Providence RI based musician Sean Halpin. Craow’s sound can be described as a unique approach in his song writing using dark beat heavy electronic music falling between the genres of EBM and the “wave” music of the early 80s. Craow’s utilizes thick and heavy rhythmic sounds under cold/and discordant melodies coated with effects while processed vocals deliver topics ranging from personal fears and doubts to metaphors of his own hobbies. Craow performs live with hardware synthesizers and samplers and his voice and has toured many parts of the United States over the past 7 years with other a artist like Timeghost, Pod Blotz , Soft Target, Haves & Thirds, Granite Mask, to name a few. Craow is associated with The Los Angles label Nostilevo since 2012 and has also worked with More Records, Aesthetic House and Death Shadow records. With an upcoming 12” on Mannequin Records.
About Mutual Irradiation
Mutual Irradiation is an interdisciplinary performance and lecture series initiated by Jim Strong. Referencing a Quaker devotional text, Mutual Irradiation refers to as an inner radiance which can be mutually drawn between the listener and the one being listened to, in the pull of deep conversation and sharing. A category of listening which in a social and reciprocal context behaves like the connecting of a circuit, beginning a transmission of radiance, intimacy, ideas, blueprints….
