GXLDmine declared on his January EP that he’s “Ya New Favorite Rapper,” and February seems to show no signs of the young rhymesayer intending to slow down. Rather, he seems to just be getting started. The Philadelphia lyricist’s tunes are a masterful mix of infectious melodies, inspirational mantras, and of course, braggadocious bars.

If the acronym for GXLD: “Going e(X)ceedingly Long Distances” is any indication of his future career, the 20-something year old creator has a lot in store for himself, and us listeners.

GXLD’s newest offering “Enjoy the Ride” is more than a mixtape. It’s a vulnerable attempt at redemption, self-acceptance, and even manifestation. It serves as a reminder to live our lives to the fullest regardless of circumstances, and to remember that it’s not about how fast you get to your destination, but about how much you enjoy the ride.
