A member of xTAL fSCK (w/ Jon Satrom), LORD MUTE (w/ Max Allison), Cleav’d Cleaver (w/ Bran(…)Pos), Ratatosk (w/ Ben Billington), and various ad-hoc ensembles to numerous to mention. He can usually be found traversing the boundaries between free improvisation, concrete composition, and aleatoric noise. His discography includes recordings on Alien Passengers, Baked Tapes, Boxmedia, CIP, Crank Satori, and Fluxus Montana among many others. He has been an active participant in Chicago’s experimental electronic and improvised music scenes since the late 1990s, including co-running Enemy, an underground performance space that hosted hundreds of free jazz, noise, experimental music, and new media art events from 2005-12
Luer is a new sound project from Matt Taggart, who is based out of Billings, Montana. Taggart is best-known for his harsh noise project, PCRV, and has toured the U.S. extensively for the past 16 years. With PCRV, Taggart released a multitude of albums across labels such as RRRecords, CIP, Xerxes, Banned Productions, and more. He also runs the tape and net label Fluxus MT. Luer is a departure from the harsh approach of PCRV into more sonic spaces. Luer is explorative and grounded in improvisation and experimentation. Luer is a slow sonic impact of sound that spit fragments all around the outer edges. psychedelic walls and tones that give way to singular voices and invoke the inevitable end of space.
Mutual Irradiation is an interdisciplinary performance and lecture series initiated by Jim Strong exploring the intersection of the arts, spirituality, science and activism.
