About the Workshop

Natural dyes are all pigments derived from natural resources such as plants, fungi, lichens, minerals and insects. Many designers and fiber artists are returning to this practice to foster a sustainable use of materials in the face of environmental devastation.

In this hands-on virtual workshop, participants will be provided dye kits and explore extracting pigments from marigolds while engaging with the history, science and methodology surrounding these techniques that have been used by artisans for centuries.

POC to the front!
This Zoom workshop will have a 15 person capacity, so please pre-register. There will be a recording of the workshop available for those who cannot attend. This workshop will be for Philadelphia residents only; dye kits will be available for pick-up for registered participants at Vox Populi Gallery (319 N. 11th Street) and need to be picked up by Thursday, February 18th.
