About the Workshop

Learn to draft a simple boxy shirt pattern to your measurements. In this 2 hour workshop over Zoom, participants will learn how to take their measurements, cut out patterns to fit, and use basic sewing techniques to construct a shirt. Easy additions and alterations to garments will also be discussed. A sewing machine is recommended but not necessary.

Fabric will be provided to workshop attendees for pickup.
POC participants prioritized.

This Zoom workshop will have a 15 person capacity, so please pre-register. There will be a recording of the workshop available for those who cannot attend. This workshop will be for Philadelphia residents only; kits will be available for pick-up for registered participants at Vox Populi Gallery.

Supplies

Fabric Kits are available for pick-up from Vox Populi for any participant who needs fabric to work with, or participants can work with their own fabrics.

All Participants Should Plan to Provide Their Own:
● Measuring tape
● 2 yards of fabric
● Fabric marking tool (colored pencils work great)
● Scissors
● Pins
● Sewing machine or hand-sewing needle
● Thread

Optional:
● ~50”x40” paper for drawing the pattern (the pattern can be drawn directly on the fabric as well. Wrapping paper works well, or old newspapers taped together)
● Pinking shears
● 24-36” ruler
