About the Event
On Tuesday, March 16th at 8pm EST, join Vox members Jim Strong and Melissa Langer for the second installment of Show & Tell, a new screening and filmmaker Q+A series occurring every third week of the month.
We will be showing three shorts by Hồ Chí Minh-based artist Phạm Nguyễn Anh Tú. The films không đề #2 (untitled #2), em không là duy nhất (i’m not the only one), and um tùm lum use fantasy, humor, and play to explore themes of queerness, friendship, and memory. Each is a revelation. Join us for a Q&A with the artist following the screening!
The films will be available to view on the Vox Website, along with the filmmaker Q+A, for one month following the initial screening.
Show & Tell is presented by Vox Populi’s Black Box Committee as part of our ongoing 4th Wall film/video program dedicated to showcasing new and experimental film/video works by independent, emerging and early-career artists.
About the Artist
Phạm Nguyễn Anh Tú is an experimental video artist based in Hồ Chí Minh, Việt Nam. His works focus on exploring themes of queer identity, fantasy, memories and human emotions, depicting scenes of playful reverie and inner dialogue translated to video. Tú approaches video making through a combination of animated collages and chroma key compositing to produce scenes that often mimic dreamlike states.
