Please join us for a gallery talk moderated by Institute of Contemporary Art Chief Curator Anthony Elms on September 13th at 3pm. This month features solo exhibitions of Vox Populi members Maria Dumlao and Will Haughery, the Guilty Pleasures book release exhibition of member Jay Muhlin, and the group show Reading Room curated by Vox member Beth Heinly.
ICA Chief Curator Anthony Elms joined the museum as Associate Curator in 2011. He organized White Petals Surround Your Yellow Heart (2013) which presented the work of artists engaged with clothing, adornment, and self-presentation, and served as the organizing curator for Stefan Sagmeister The Happy Show (2012). His writing has appeared extensively in journals, catalogs, and magazines and he is a writer and editor of the publishing imprint WhiteWalls Inc. Opening September 16th at ICA, Elms co-organized Christopher Knowles: In a Word and is the receiving curator of Josephine Pryde: lapses in Thinking By the person i Am. Previously he worked at Gallery 400 at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and before that the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago. He was a co-curator of the 2014 Whitney Biennial.
