Show & Tell: Experimental Animations by Oona Taper

On Thursday, July 22nd at 6pm EST, join us on Zoom for Show and Tell: Experimental Animations by Oona Taper. Together, the four animations by Taper we will be screening create chaotic meditations on intimacy, physical space, and subjective experiences.
A live, remote Q&A with the artist, Oona Taper, will follow the screening, hosted by Vox Members Blanche Brown and Jim Strong.
The films will be available to view on the Vox Website, along with the filmmaker Q+A, for one month following the initial screening.
Show & Tell is presented by Vox Populi’s Black Box Committee as part of our ongoing 4th Wall film/video program dedicated to showcasing new and experimental film/video works by independent, emerging, and early-career artists.
About the Artist
Oona Taper is a Philadelphia-based multimedia artist and experimental animator whose work, which embraces a love of physical materials and repetition, creates chaotic meditations on intimacy, physical space, and subjective experiences.
Taper’s short films have been screened at national and international film festivals including; The IVY Film Festival in Providence RI, OUTsider Fest in Austin, Texas, and Locomoción, an Experimental Animation Festival in Mexico City. Her video installations and works on paper have been showcased in galleries in Boston, Philadelphia, and Rome.
Beyond her own practice Taper is an organizer who helps facilitate collaborations, exhibitions and events. She is currently a core member of Krissy Talking Pictures, a video art organization that uplifts the work of queer artists while working to form community around artistic creation.
