It’s in the mailbox, and it smells like something I don’t remember.
We played with it when we were younger; we threw it at each other.
I crouched down, searching for something else, my head and shoulders itched for days because of it.
The way it pushed between my toes tickled and aroused my youthful person.
It was not part of what I knew, but of what I observed from afar.
There were an average amount of them, and we didn’t talk much about it.
The way it shimmered in its movement was peaceful and still.
It was the earth mixed with sweat on my forehead.
It was the correction on my cheeks.
It was the finger in my hole.
