The Foliage Beyond Imagining
December 7 - 30, 2012
In The Foliage Beyond Imagining, simplicity of form in combination with vibrant colors helps the work explore ideas of inner and outer space as seen through both the subconscious and conscious imagination. Self-reference, the recycling of images, and an intuitive working process play key rolls in the development of a visual vocabulary that is both diagrammatic and map like in quality.
Chandler Wigton was born in Durango, Colorado in 1985. He received a BA in painting in 2008 from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and is a MFA candidate in painting at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. Chandler is currently in his second year of the MFA program, having spent his first year studying and working in Rome, Italy.
