TURNSTILE UNDERBELLY
March 4 - April 24, 2016
Joe Bartram finds an interest in the dynamics of the contemporary urban experience by examining how built environments are transformed through industrial and technological processes and the ways in which societies are effected by consumerism, mass production and utilization of goods and services.
TURNSTILE UNDERBELLY investigates how cultural identities and methodologies from ancient times parallels with tools and rituals of present day.
Joe Bartram was born in Ohio and has been working in Philadelphia since 2013. He received a BFA from The University of Akron in 2012 where he studied sculpture and ceramics.
