About the artists
Brandon Lopez is a New York-based composer and bassist working at the fringes of jazz, free improvisation, noise and new music. His music has been praised as “brutal” (Chicago Reader) and “relentless” (The New York Times). From the New York Philharmonic to DIY basements, Lopez has worked beside many luminaries of jazz, classical, poetry, and experimental music, including Fred Moten, John Zorn, Okkyung Lee, Tony Malaby, Tyshawn Sorey, Bill Nace, Sun Ra Arkestra, Susan Alcorn and others. @bantlopez | https://www.brandonlopez.nyc/ Street Rat is not a person but a visceral, intellectual, and spiritual exploration of the mysteries of life. Attempting to bring heavy concepts to your reality, it is the eye on the ground that sees and translates all intersecting issues as they merge, explode, dissolve, and implode. It is a way to comprehend, a way to cope, a way to feel, and a way to take action. https://gladysnobriga.com/portfolio/streetrat/Windscour:Joe Moffett approaches his work with a keen interest in unconventional sounds and forms, collective improvisation, and the intersection of action and stillness. He is a co-founder of several projects, including ambient improv trio Earth Tongues. He has also appeared with a number of artists and projects including Yoshi Wada & Joe Morris. @moffijazz | https://www.joemoffettmusic.com/Zach Rowden deals with the acoustic and performative possibilities of the upright / electric bass and violin.
