Presented by Ishtar Sr. December 3rd 7:30om at Vox $$7-$10 NOTAFLOF On December 3rd Vox Populi Gallery will host QUEERNOIR: a night of black queer music. Ishtar Sr., St. Sol, and Pure Ply join forces to bring cutting edge sonic experimentation to the Gallery. From St. Sol’s genre-bending approach to electronica, to Pure Ply’s inventive synthwork, to Ishtar Sr.’s mutated futuristic R&B, QUEERNOIR promises mutliple unique explorations of what it means to be Black and queer.

Participating Artists

Savan DePaul (they/them, she/her), who also goes by the future pop moniker Ishtar Sr., is a Philadelphian musician/producer/visual artist. DePaul tackles every style under the sun from abstract hip hop polemics to futuristic R&B/dance pop anthems. Her music carries a sci-fi/mythological bend and nestles various odes to Blackness, sexual autonomy, queer acceptance, and self reflection. More Info: SavanIshtar St. Sol is a force of genre-elusive electronic music. They manifest immersive and percussive soundscapes which house stories of emotional cartography, dis/connections, and power. More info: St Sol Pure Ply is an experimental music project by RJ. They are based in Philadelphia. ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT Please note that Vox Populi is located on the third floor of a historic warehouse building at 319 N. 11th Street and that there are five steps leading from the street-level to the first-floor landing where the passenger elevator picks-up/drops-off. The entry into/out of the elevator is 29-inches wide, so may not accommodate all wheelchairs or motorized chairs. Any individual requiring a ramp to navigate this entryway is encouraged to get in touch with Vox Populi ahead of time to coordinate ramp-access and discuss accessibility details.
