All great things must come to an end and Vox Populi is bidding a fond farewell to our Executive Director of the past five years, Danny Orendorff, who we are thrilled to announce has accepted a new position with a museum in Austin, TX. We could not be more excited for him.
Orendorff’s tenure has included the successful oversight of dozens of exhibitions, hundreds of programs, and countless curveballs. He initiated new collaborations and implemented his own curatorial projects like Future Ecologies and Still Doing Life; all while earning crucial support for Vox by securing grants from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Philadelphia Foundation, William Penn Foundation, Joseph Roberts Foundation, and the Wilhelm Family Foundation, amongst others.
Orendorff provided steadfast leadership through the tumultuous first years of the ongoing pandemic. He helped to implement coalitional organizing efforts such as No To Zero for the Arts and sorted through state and federal relief funding. He guided Vox through an evolution of board and membership and renewed Vox’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Throughout his tenure, Danny remained a dedicated, kind, and nimble leader. We know he will do great things in Austin. Please join us in congratulating him!
In Danny’s stead, Blanche Brown will be stepping in as Interim Executive Director with support from Vox’s dedicated membership and board. Blanche joined the Vox Populi Collective Membership in 2019 and has served as Collective Member President since the beginning of 2022, you may remember her as the host of Minute Fest. She brings over six years of experience working on behalf of community-based 501(c)3 organizations and is honored to be able to support Vox during this transition.
