2017 has been one hell of a year without a doubt. Besides the political upheavals, the Weinstein scandal has sparked a national conversation about sexual misconduct and prompted many to come forward with accusations ranging from groping to rape against prominent men. This scandal wave, along with the #MeToo movement that followed, has given the birth to Lana Abdo’ theatrical dance piece, The Maze, which is, first and foremost, a cry out for women, as well as men, to speak up and overcome their fears and uncertainties. The performers, including Lana Abdo, Brissae Valdez, and Christopher Odom, take us into the journey of a woman in the modern-day dating world which puts into question the myth, or reality, of what is becoming more and more of a norm for people to try to live happily on their own, and not settle before they meet someone they really love and want to spend the rest of their lives with.

Performing in AUX is ????? (‘daiKYo,furo shIKI), a brainbending collaboration between Tamio Shiraishi and Cammisa Buerhaus, that fuses handmade sound, free noise, and guttural blooms of tone poetry. 

The Selfish Book Tour + Artist Panel is the last stop on a multi-city tour to showcase the amazing team behind “Selfish”, a mostly memoir magazine that focuses on the the female story,  and connect with artists on a personal level. This event will be led by editor-in-chief Taylor Yates with many of the Philadelphia-area contributors in attendance. She will discus the origins of the project, its mission, and the production of the latest issue, “Just One More.” 

Are You Comfortable? is a performance and video event where artists respond to exactly that: comfortability. Be prepared for some graphic content and an existential crisis or two.

Joshua Reiman’s films deal with themes of exploration, artistic expression, and contextual inquiries with visual pop. This collection of short films offers an array of lush landscapes with characters that guide audiences through layered conceptual ideas about art, history, and popular culture.
